Facilities

Trend’s 12-acre site includes state-of-the-art furnaces for producing thermally toughened glass, a dedicated unit for making chemically toughened glass and one of the largest furnaces in Europe for sag bent glass.

All manufacturing takes place on-site, including cutting, grinding, printing, sag bending, chemical toughening, thermal toughening and laminating. Trend also has teams of specialist staff working in clean rooms and purpose built facilities producing sealed units in aluminium, stainless steel and pre-preg carbon fibre.

Products

Chemically toughened glass is up to 5 x stronger than float glass, making it ideal for a range of architectural and decorative solutions. From the curved panels of an orangery dome to a dramatic glass staircase.

Impact-resistant glass is in demand throughout the transport industry, where curved and flat panels are supplied for specialist applications, trains, trams, buses and even high performance and specialist vehicles.

Trend’s toughening and laminating processes are key to the manufacture of highly specialised bullet resistant glass and fire resistant glass and are also used in the production of LPS1270 attack resistant glass which can be used in framed systems conforming to LPS1175.
